Raipur is the capital of an Indian state Chhattisgarh, which was bifurcated from Madhya Pradesh in 2000. The city of Raipur has been in existence since the 9th century; the old site and ruins of the fort can be seen in the southern part of the city. Satawahana kings ruled this part till the 2nd-3rd century. It is believed that the King Ramachandra of this dynasty established the city of Raipur and subsequently made it the capital of his kingdom. Another story about Raipur is that King Ramachandra's son Brahmdeo Rai had established Raipur. In any case the antiquity of the city is established as a seat of power for long time. When Chhattisgarh was established Es a new state, Raipur regained its lost glory and became the focal point of a tribal dominated region of the country. Raipur is located in the coordinates 21.14°N 81.38°E, almost central in the state and connected by road, rail and air routes with different parts of the country. The land allotted for construction and functioning of the proposed Maulana Azad Boys Hostel is located in Khaturi village area of Tahsil Arang, Near Mandir Hasoud, on the highway AH 45, in District Raipur where the Society has purchased a large chunk of land. It is situated on the road linking Naya Raipur where a number of professional institutions such as Raipur Institute of Technology are already functioning. The land is around 30 km from the center of the state capital and a little less from the Society's Mohsin-e-Millat Unani Medical College. The management of the Society has planned to gradually shift its activities to the new campus by constructing there desired buildings of the Unani College, hostel, school, administrative block, etc. Meanwhile, students will easily commute from the place by public or private transport. There is no doubt that the Hostel constructed in the cherished way will be well located to fulfill the designated needs of minority students studying in the institutions of the Society.
